The GR20 in Corsica is a dream for every serious hiker. Recognized by Lonely Planet and National Geographic as one of the top ten treks in the world, this route offers a challenging yet rewarding experience through the stunning landscapes of Corsica’s Natural Park.
During this 6-day guided trek, we will cross high mountain ridges, lush forests, crystal-clear rivers, and alpine lakes, culminating in an ascent to Monte Cinto (2,706 m), the highest peak in Corsica. Nights will be spent in high-altitude refuges and mountain camps, and after the trek, we will explore the coastal town of Calvi, where we will enjoy a celebratory dinner and relax on sandy beaches.
This is the most comfortable version of the GR20 trek, with all logistics taken care of so you can fully enjoy the experience.

In the morning, start from Livorno, where we board a ferry to Bastia, Corsica. After arrival, we continue by vehicle to Calvi and then to Calenzana, the starting point of our trek in Corsica’s Natural Park.
Overnight in a camp near Calenzana.
After breakfast, we shoulder our backpacks and leave civilization behind for six days. The first day is long and challenging, with 1,550 meters of elevation gain. Each mountain pass opens up a new, breathtaking landscape.
After crossing the final of three passes, we arrive at the idyllic mountain refuge Ortu di u Piobbu, where we spend the night.

Today’s route takes us through birch forests, past ancient shepherd huts, and along the Mandriaccia stream, winding through majestic pine forests and rugged granite slopes.
Upon reaching Bocca Piccaia pass (1,950 m), we enjoy spectacular views of Monte Cinto and Palio Orbo. After a short descent, we traverse an exposed ridge with some easy scrambling, before descending steeply into the valley to reach Refuge de Carrozzu.
Dinner and overnight stay.
The morning begins with a short climb through the forest followed by a descent to the Spasimata River, which we cross via a suspension bridge.
We then store our trekking poles for a while, as the next section requires some hands-on scrambling over colorful granite slabs. After about 2.5 hours, we reach Lac de la Muvrella (1,860 m) before continuing our ascent to a pass at 2,148 m, offering incredible views of the Asco Valley. A short descent brings us to our next overnight stop.

Today’s challenge is the ascent of Monte Cinto, Corsica’s highest and most iconic peak.
On a clear day, we can see the entire island and even as far as Marseille and Rome. The climb is steep, requiring some scrambling and sections with cables for support.
After celebrating at the summit, we descend to Refuge de Tighjettu for a well-earned rest.

Today’s trail takes us through pine forests and across multiple streams, following the eastern slopes of Paglia Orba, Corsica’s third-highest peak.
From the 1,962 m pass, we descend through the Valle de Golo, where we can take a refreshing dip in natural pools along the Golo River. After passing Cascade de Radule waterfall, a short final ascent brings us to Castel di Verghio, where we spend the night.
Dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we transfer to Calvi, a historic medieval town on Corsica’s northwest coast.
Here, we enjoy a relaxing afternoon, shopping for Corsican specialties and sightseeing, before gathering for a farewell dinner by the sea.

The final day includes a long journey home, with a 2.5-hour drive to Bastia, a 4-hour ferry ride to Livorno. End of Program.
