Experience the jewels of the Hashemite Kingdom in comfort and style.
Our Jordan for Travelers program is designed for those who want to experience the magic of the Middle East without the extreme physical demands of a trekking expedition. While we still walk plenty (especially in Petra!), the focus here is on cultural immersion, history, and enjoying the diverse landscapes of Jordan at a relaxed pace.
We journey from the Roman ruins of the north to the coral reefs of the Red Sea in the south. We stand in awe before the Treasury in Petra, sleep under the stars in the Martian landscape of Wadi Rum, and float weightlessly in the Dead Sea. This Land Only tour gives you the flexibility to arrange your own flights while we handle all the logistics, comfortable hotels, and expert guiding on the ground.

Jordan is one of the most welcoming countries in the world, but it is a different culture.
Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM). You will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Amman. The evening is free to settle in or take a short walk to sample your first falafel on Rainbow Street. Dinner at the hotel.
We head north to Jerash, the “Pompeii of the East.” We walk through the Hadrian’s Arch, stand in the oval plaza, and test the acoustics of the ancient theater. It is one of the best-preserved Roman provincial towns in the world. In the afternoon, we return to Amman to visit the Citadel (Jabal al-Qal’a) for panoramic views of the sprawling city and the ancient Roman Theater. Dinner in Amman.
We travel south along the ancient King’s Highway. Our first stop is Madaba to see the famous Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land. Nearby is Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have seen the Promised Land before he died. We continue through the dramatic Wadi Mujib canyon and visit the Crusader castle of Kerak, exploring its underground maze. We arrive in Wadi Musa (Petra) in the evening.
The highlight of the trip! We dedicate the whole day to Petra, the ancient capital of the Nabataeans. We walk down the narrow Siq canyon until the dramatic reveal of the Treasury (Al-Khazneh). We explore the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, and the Theater. For the energetic, a hike up the 800 steps to the Monastery (Ad Deir) offers incredible views over the valley. Dinner in Wadi Musa.
We visit Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a smaller but fascinating caravan station. Then, we drive into the red desert of Wadi Rum. We switch to 4×4 Bedouin Jeeps for a 2-hour tour, exploring massive rock formations, ancient inscriptions, and red sand dunes. We arrive at our desert camp in time for a spectacular sunset. We enjoy a traditional Zarb dinner (cooked underground) and sleep in the desert.
We wake up to the silence of the desert. After breakfast, we drive south to Aqaba, Jordan’s window to the Red Sea. The rest of the day is free for relaxation. You can swim, snorkel among the coral reefs (optional), take a glass-bottom boat tour, or explore the souks of the city. Dinner at the hotel in Aqaba.
We leave the coast and drive north through the Rift Valley to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth (430m below sea level). We have time to float in the hyper-saline water—an impossible sensation—and cover ourselves in the mineral-rich black mud. Feeling rejuvenated, we continue to Amman for our final farewell dinner.
Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) for your flight home. (One group transfer provided). We say “Ma’a Salama” (Goodbye/Go with Peace) to Jordan.
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a miracle of the Middle East. It is a land where the pages of history books come alive, where the hospitality is as warm as the desert sun, and where the landscapes range from pine-clad mountains to red sand dunes and coral-filled seas. Our Jordan for Travelers tour is the perfect introduction to this safe, stable, and fascinating country.
Undoubtedly the crown jewel of Jordan, Petra is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Carved directly into vibrant red, white, and pink sandstone cliffs by the Nabataeans over 2,000 years ago, it was once a thriving trade center. Our tour gives you a full day to uncover its secrets. The moment you emerge from the narrow, winding Siq canyon to face the towering facade of the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) is a cinematic experience that defines travel. But Petra is much more than just the Treasury; it is a vast city of tombs, temples, and theaters that rewards exploration.
If Petra is the work of man, Wadi Rum is the masterpiece of nature. This protected desert wilderness features sandstone mountains rising vertically from the red sand, creating a landscape so alien it has been used as the setting for movies like The Martian, Dune, and Lawrence of Arabia. On our tour, we don’t just look at the desert; we live in it. We take a 4×4 Jeep tour to visit the rock bridges and ancient petroglyphs, and we spend the night in a Bedouin camp. Watching the Milky Way stretch across the unpolluted night sky in absolute silence is a spiritual experience.
Jordan is the land of the Bible. We travel along the King’s Highway, a trade route used for 5,000 years. We stand atop Mount Nebo, the windswept promontory where Moses looked out over the Holy Land. On a clear day, you can see Jericho, the River Jordan, and even Jerusalem. In Madaba, we marvel at the intricate 6th-century mosaic map on the floor of St. George’s Church, the oldest surviving map of the Holy Land.
This tour offers a unique opportunity to experience two very different seas. The Dead Sea is a natural spa. At 430 meters below sea level, the air is rich in oxygen and the water is so salty (34%) that you cannot sink. Floating here while reading a newspaper is the classic photo op, but the real benefit comes from the mineral-rich black mud. In contrast, Aqaba on the Red Sea is full of life. The coral reefs here are vibrant and healthy, offering world-class snorkeling and diving opportunities in warm, crystal-clear water.
Our Land Only package is designed for the modern traveler. We understand that you might want to use frequent flyer miles, arrive a day early to rest, or combine Jordan with a trip to neighboring countries. We handle the on-the-ground complexities—the Arabic language barrier, the driving in chaotic traffic, the hotel bookings, and the site tickets—while you enjoy the freedom to fly on your own terms. Our group transfers make arrival and departure seamless.
Jordanian food is a highlight of the trip. From the ubiquitous falafel and hummus to fresh salads like tabbouleh and fattoush, the food is fresh and healthy. You will likely try Mansaf, the national dish of lamb cooked in jameed (fermented dried yogurt) and served on rice. But the most memorable part of Jordan is the people. The greeting “Welcome to Jordan” is not just a slogan; it is a genuine sentiment offered by shopkeepers, Bedouins, and locals alike.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a coastal country in the Middle East. It borders Syria to the north, Iraq to the northeast, Saudi Arabia to the south and east, Israel to the west, and the West Bank of the Jordan River, where it also borders the Dead Sea, with an outlet to the Red Sea in the Gulf of Aqaba. Its relief is trapped between river canyons and covered with dunes. Plant and animal diversity is excellent despite the slight relative altitude difference. There are many endemics. Jordan is a country full of contrasts and diversity, imbued with mosaics from all periods of history, the legacy of Islam and Christianity, and Bedouin culture. Jordan is one of the friendliest and most picturesque countries in the Middle East.
Wadi Rum lies 250 km south of Amman. Its surface resembles the moon, covered with sand and stone towers. This desert is a significant historical museum dotted with characters from the Bible and home to today’s semi-nomadic inhabitants, the Bedouins.
Petra is located 262 km south of Amman. More than 2,000 years ago, it was a haven for nomadic Nabatean Arabs and Bedouins who came from the northern part of Arabia. At first, they built necessary dwellings in caves, which grew into a real fortress carved into living rock, interwoven with hundreds of buildings that these people created with their own hands.
Since Jordan offers many opportunities for exploration, we have prepared additional programs at the Lifetrek agency. The programs we carry out in Jordan are in addition to the Trekking program, the description of which you are currently on, and travel programs. All our programs in Jordan are also family-friendly. Catalog of our programs: Jordan
We will go to Jordan on a trek to one of the most beautiful deserts in the world—Wadi Rum. The desert adventure in the Arab world will inspire us with its diversity, and we will crown everything with the ancient kingdom of Petra. On the way, among other things, we will “taste” the charms of the Dead and Red Seas. In one sentence, experience the most epic desert with nomadic life and rich Arab culture.
We visit Jordan regularly.
Our groups are small enough so that everyone can get the most out of it, or the real Jordan experience is guaranteed.
We must also mention our price, which is significantly lower compared to competing programs of other agencies (we are talking about a minimum price of €150). The better price is by no means the result of “savings” on location, but we earned it due to frequent visits to Jordan. Even the highly favorable prices of air tickets allow us to offer (verified) the best price for a trekking program in Jordan.
Even the youngest will be delighted with the program. We prepared our trip to Jordan with families in mind. The country is extremely safe, and children are welcomed with open arms at every step. We guarantee they will fit nicely into “our family” of Bedouins and that their time in Jordan will pass too quickly.
