Upon arrival, an overnight bus transfer to Huaraz will be arranged if time permits. If arriving late, we will stay overnight near the airport.
Rest day in Huaraz or a scenic bus journey from Lima to Huaraz via the coastal highway and Cordillera Negra. Upon arrival in Huaraz (3,000m), we explore the town and enjoy dinner in a local restaurant.
We take a short acclimatization hike in the surrounding hills with clear views of Huascarán, the highest peak in the Cordillera Blanca. In the afternoon, we return to Huaraz to explore the lively streets and taste local specialties.
A final acclimatization trek to the picturesque Churup Valley, where we spend the day hiking and having lunch by the lake before returning to Huaraz.
We review gear, meet with our local guide and cook, and explore Huaraz before setting off for the trek.
After breakfast, we drive to Cuartelhuain and begin trekking. We ascend Punta Cacanan Pass (4,750m) before descending to our first campsite near the stunning Mitucocha Lagoon.
We trek through the Alcaycocha Pass (4,700m), enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. We camp at Carhuacocha Lake, surrounded by towering peaks.
A scenic day through Siula Pass (4,800m), offering breathtaking views of Yerupajá (6,634m) and Siula Grande (6,356m). We descend into the Huayhuash Valley to set up camp.
We tackle the challenging Trapecio Pass (5,000m), the second-highest pass on the trek, surrounded by majestic peaks. We set up camp in a remote high-altitude valley.
A morning climb to the San Antonio viewpoint rewards us with spectacular panoramas of Siula, Yerupajá, and the surrounding peaks. We descend into the lush valley of Cutatambo and continue to the village of Huayllapa.
Trekking through the Huatiac Valley, we ascend the Tapush Pass (4,800m) before descending to our camp at Gashpapampa.
We hike over Yaucha Pass (4,800m), visiting the incredible viewpoint of Puka Puka before descending to our lakeside camp at Jahuacocha.
After a final ascent to Punta Jahuacocha (4,700m), we descend to Pocpa and transfer back to Huaraz.
A relaxing day in Monterrey’s hot springs and a traditional Peruvian feast in a garden restaurant before boarding the overnight bus to Lima.
After hotel check-in, we have free time to explore Lima, visit museums, markets, and the Miraflores district. If possible, we take a return flight in the evening.
Morning transfer to the airport. End of Program
