Experience the true spirit of winter in the Julian Alps on a three-day ski touring adventure through the spectacular landscapes of Triglav National Park. This program is designed for skiers who want to discover Slovenia beyond the ski resorts — exploring hidden valleys, remote alpine terrain, and some of the country’s most iconic mountain scenery on skis.
Based in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia’s best-known alpine resort and home of the Alpine Skiing World Cup, the tour combines classic Slovenian ski touring routes with authentic mountain atmosphere, breathtaking views, and carefully selected ascents and descents suitable for experienced backcountry skiers.

Over three days, we explore different parts of the Julian Alps — from the peaceful glacial valley of Krnica and the sunny slopes of Velika Mojstrovka to the dramatic alpine setting beneath Jalovec and Kotovo Sedlo. Each tour offers its own character: quiet forest approaches, panoramic ridgelines, high alpine passes, and long scenic descents through untouched winter landscapes.
The program is led by an experienced local mountain guide with extensive knowledge of snow conditions, terrain, weather, and the natural environment of Triglav National Park. Particular attention is given to safety, route selection, and respecting the fragile alpine ecosystem and wildlife that inhabit these mountains.
This ski touring experience is ideal for active winter enthusiasts looking for a combination of adventure, stunning nature, and authentic alpine culture in one of the most beautiful mountain regions in Europe.
Our first day is a beautiful warm-up tour into the peaceful Krnica Valley, one of the most scenic glacial valleys in the Julian Alps. Surrounded by the dramatic north faces of Prisojnik, Razor, and Škrlatica, the route offers an unforgettable introduction to ski touring in Slovenia.
We begin in Kranjska Gora at 9 am, where we meet with a guide and follow a gentle trail past the Krnica mountain hut through forests of beech and larch. As the valley gradually opens, the alpine scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. Beneath the towering walls of Kriška Stena, we enter an open snowy amphitheatre, where we prepare for the descent.
The ski down offers enjoyable terrain and magnificent views all the way back toward the valley, making it the perfect first day in the mountains.

Velika Mojstrovka is considered one of Slovenia’s great classic ski tours. Depending on snow conditions, we usually start from the famous Vršič Pass, the highest mountain pass in Slovenia.
The ascent follows wide open slopes above the pass, with stunning panoramic views over the Julian Alps throughout the climb. The terrain is varied and enjoyable, combining sunny alpine slopes with a true high-mountain atmosphere.
From the summit, the views extend across the surrounding peaks and deep valleys of Triglav National Park. The descent route is carefully selected according to snow and safety conditions, while also respecting the fragile alpine environment and the habitat of the local chamois.

Our final day leads into one of the wildest and most impressive corners of the Julian Alps. The tour begins at the legendary Planica Nordic Centre, world-famous for ski flying and numerous world records.
We follow the Tamar Valley beneath the spectacular walls of Jalovec and the surrounding peaks — mountains that played an important role in the history of Slovenian alpinism. The scenery becomes increasingly alpine as we approach Kotovo Sedlo, located beneath the striking pyramid of Jalovec, often considered the most elegant mountain in Slovenia.
From the saddle, we enjoy a long and rewarding ski descent back through the valley toward Planica, surrounded by the unforgettable scenery of the Julian Alps.
