Expect five unforgettable days of ski touring in one of Europe’s most underrated winter destinations. The Pyrenees offer a unique combination of high alpine terrain, reliable snow conditions, and stunning natural landscapes that remain relatively undiscovered compared to the Alps.
Every day we will head into the mountains in search of the best snow and the most scenic routes. Tours usually include several hours of climbing with skins, followed by rewarding descents through open bowls, alpine faces, forest sections, and untouched powder fields. Depending on conditions, we may reach peaks close to 3000 meters above sea level.
The program is physically demanding and designed for participants who are comfortable skiing in various snow conditions and off-piste terrain. Previous ski touring experience is essential. A good level of fitness is required, as daily ascents can range from 1000 to 1600 vertical meters.
Safety is always our highest priority. The guide continuously evaluates avalanche conditions, weather forecasts, and group dynamics to select the most suitable objectives. Flexibility is an important part of the program, allowing us to adapt plans to current mountain conditions.
After active days in the mountains, participants can enjoy comfortable accommodation, local cuisine, and wellness facilities, creating the perfect balance between adventure and recovery.
Upon arrival, we check into a comfortable hotel where dinner awaits us. This is followed by a short meeting with the guide, an overview of the program, and preparation of the equipment for the upcoming days. We finish the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.
After breakfast, we check our equipment, adjust the bindings, and drive to the starting point in the Ransol Valley. This is ideal terrain for the introduction to the week, with the final part of the ascent leading towards the summit of Pic de la Coume de Varilhes (2758 m). A descent down wide slopes back into the valley follows. Return to the hotel, dinner, and rest.
We begin the day with a drive to Sorteny Natural Park, considered one of the most beautiful areas of Andorra. Here the landscape opens into wide valleys and rolling ridges that seem perfectly designed for ski touring.
The ascent follows open terrain with panoramic views accompanying us throughout the day. In good conditions, we can see far towards the French Pyrenees, and in clear weather even the highest peak in the country. The objective of the day is Pic del Forn (2701 m), which we approach through varied terrain. At the summit we take a longer break before continuing with a circular descent that brings us back to the valley from the opposite side.
The tour offers a great variety of terrain – from wide open slopes to more structured transitions. In the afternoon, there is an option to relax in the wellness area or simply rest.
On the fourth day we enter the high alpine world of the Cirque des Pessons area, known for its numerous glacial lakes. In winter, this landscape takes on an entirely new character – frozen lakes and snow-covered passes create a truly unique setting. From the higher points, views open towards the Madriu Valley, which is protected by UNESCO. This is where we truly experience the vastness of the Pyrenees.
A long descent follows, often very diverse – from soft open slopes to slightly more technical sections. Return to the hotel and dinner.
One of the most beautiful days of the entire program lies ahead of us. The goal is Pic de la Font Blanca (2908 m), one of the most recognizable peaks in Andorra.
We begin the ascent in the valley and gradually climb through increasingly open terrain. In the upper section, the terrain becomes more alpine in character – depending on the conditions, narrow passages or ridge sections may appear. Once we reach the summit, we are rewarded with exceptional panoramic views across the entire Pyrenees mountain range.
A long descent follows, often considered the skiing highlight of the week – several hundred vertical meters of uninterrupted enjoyment in outstanding terrain.
We dedicate the final ski touring day to another nearly 3000-meter summit – Pic de la Serrère (2914 m).
The ascent follows a characteristic line that also includes a narrower couloir, giving the tour a slightly more alpine character. At the summit, we take time for the final views and a group photo. One last descent follows – a perfect conclusion to the ski touring story in Andorra.
In the afternoon, we return to the hotel for dinner and a relaxed gathering to celebrate the end of the program.
We will use this day to enjoy our final day in Andorra. The group can choose between skiing at the ski resort or relaxing and exploring Andorra at a slower pace.
After breakfast, we say goodbye to Andorra.
