Itinerary

DAY 1Airport Bariloche to Bariloche

Upon arrival at the airport in Bariloche we will travel to accommodation in Bariloche at the lake Nahuel Huapi. After the long journey, relax and settle in. Enjoy a welcome dinner and meet your local guide for an introduction to the tour.

DAY 2Warm-Up Tour: Cerro Catedral or Challhuaco

We will start the day with a ski warm-up to get accustomed to the terrain and get to know each other with the guide. Weather permitting, we’ll ski off-piste at Cerro Catedral in the La Laguna area. If Cerro Catedral is closed or too windy, an alternative is a scenic ski tour through the Challhuaco Valley, skiing through forests with views of surrounding glaciers. We return to the hotel in Bariloche in the afternoon.

DAY 3Cerro Catedral to Refugio Frey

After breakfast and packing, we will drive to Cerro Catedral for a short warm-up descent on the resort slopes. Then we begin the ski tour toward Refugio Frey, skiing the surrounding hills and enjoying spectacular alpine views. Overnight at Refugio Frey.

DAY 4Skiing Around Refugio Frey

We will spend the day exploring classic couloirs and granite peaks near Refugio Frey. Skiers can choose their own pace and line difficulty while enjoying multiple runs in this stunning alpine terrain. Overnight again at Refugio Frey.

DAY 5Frey Area

Another full day of skiing in the vicinity of the hut, discovering new terrain and enjoying the backcountry. Overnight at Refugio Frey, the most comfortable hut on our Patagonian traverse.

DAY 6Traverse to Refugio Jakob

We start the day with an alpine traverse from Frey to Refugio Jakob, enjoying spectacular views and skiing shorter lines along the route. After arrival at the hut we have dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 7Skiing in Jakob Basin

We spend the day exploring the alpine terrain in Jakob Basin, skiing steep couloirs and long descents back to the hut. Overnight again at Refugio Jakob.

DAY 8Long Traverse to Refugio López

A long and rewarding day awaits. We set off early for the challenging traverse connecting Jakob Basin to Refugio López. The route is demanding but offers breathtaking scenery and a true adventure through the mountains. We arrive at the hut for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 9Final Ski Day and Return to Bariloche

Lets enjoy our last ski tour in Patagonia, with options including Pico Turista, Filo de las Cabras, or the slopes near López. After skiing, descend to the trailhead for transfer back to Bariloche. We will celebrate the expedition with a farewell dinner. Overnight at a hotel.
