The trek is fully guided by a licensed mountain guide, ensuring both safety and an enriching experience. Accommodation is included in shared dormitories or private rooms, with half-board meals (breakfast and dinner) provided. Transfers at the start and end of the trek are also included, making it a stress-free adventure from arrival to completion.

What to Expect

Over four days, you will hike through some of the most scenic areas of the Julian Alps, including alpine meadows, highland pastures, tranquil lakes, and forested valleys. Each day provides opportunities for photography, wildlife observation, and enjoying the natural alpine environment. You’ll stay in comfortable mountain huts in shared bedrooms (no shover), experiencing local hospitality while enjoying half-board meals included. This trek combines adventure, culture, and nature in a safe and manageable itinerary suitable for international visitors.

Itinerary

DAY 1Bohinj – Planina pri Jezeru – Triglav Lakes Valley

The trek begins above Lake Bohinj at Planina Blato with an ascent through forest trails and alpine pastures into the heart of the Julian Alps. Traditional shepherd settlements mark the transition from valley to high mountain terrain. We pass few mountain huts, where we can dink tea. The day ends in the Triglav Lakes Valley, surrounded by glacial lakes and limestone peaks.

  • Distance: ~10 km

  • Elevation gain: +1,300 m

  • Hiking time: 6–7 hours

  • Overnight: Triglav Lakes Hut

DAY 2Triglav Lakes Valley – Komna Plateau

A more relaxed day through open alpine terrain. The route crosses rocky plateaus and gentle passes, offering wide views of the surrounding peaks. The gradual descent toward the Komna Plateau allows time to enjoy the quiet alpine environment and recover from the previous day.

  • Distance: ~9 km

  • Elevation: +200 m / −700 m

  • Hiking time: 4–5 hours

  • Overnight: Komna Hut

DAY 3Komna Plateau – Krn Area – hut at Krn lake

In the morning we start from Komna across alpine plateaus toward Krnsko lake. We will enjoy scenic wiews on the mountains. Moderate to long day, but balanced elevation profile.

  • Elevation: +400 m / −600 m

  • Hiking time: 6–7 h

  • Overnight: Krn lake hut

DAY 4Krn lake hut – Lepena – Transfer to Bovec

Morning descent from Koča pri Krnskih jezerih into Lepena Valley. This day will be great finish of our hike through forests and meadows.
